The Assessment.

Email Us 732-688-3562.  The Assessment. We Use A Compassionate Approach  By Dr. Bob Osenenko
Assessment comes in several forms and always includes what the interested party (most likely you and myself) sees as the problem. Sometimes not seeing any problem where others see lots is the single most problem needing attention.
This is not double talk. Our assessment includes what you, myself, and others view as problems. Demographics such as age, birth date, and other personal information. Including professional evaluations and a heavy psychiatric assessment. Yes I am licensed to perform psychiatric and psychological assessments. Testing, psychometrics, are performed by referrals as are medication assessments. All of these are potentially but not always necessary to be performed as we look at the whole person.
Exceptions would be when services are ordered by an MD or DO. Clinical psychologists too may refer for a specific service, such as emotional support, as they continue other routes of psychotherapy.
There is a thought some people have that "If I do nothing nothing will happen and I get to have everything remain the same." Consider this, "if you do nothing problems magnify and get worse." It is the single most destructive step people make, because it robs them of choosing different options when they are at their healthiest to do so. Psychotherapy role in assisted living making your own support system.
The truly advanced thinker takes preventive action and might say, "My parents are elderly and I know I'll need emotional support now to prepare for the worst."

FAQ. Why do you do psychiatric assessments instead of a psychiatrist? Ans. Psychiatrists do psychiatric assessments also. Some key things to remember is that the Medicare program seeks to reduce costs. Studies show that psychiatrists use a large amount of the Medicare budget for services. Some of which can be done by other professions. The assessment process can become worrisome, but to the professional its quite routine. From many people's perspective choosing another profession is good for the person, to see the behavior from another view, is good for Medicare B economy, it gives other people a chance to participate, and is good for America's future. Professionals may refer to this document regarding Medicare economies. When the time arises we do not hesitate to refer to the consulting psychiatrists we use. We find then beneficial ongoing sessions with the psychiatrist very productive.
Couples often struggle to help one another thru difficult times. Depression can be a result of the changes we all undergo as we age. With the right kind of psychotherapy the process can be unifying. It can be as congenial as a visiting neighbor.
Key To Solving This Worry
·
Solution 1. Have the problem assessed first and discuss what some of the obvious solutions are.
·
Solution 2. Place the concerns of others in perspective. What others are saying needs to be assessed. Are others seeing observations that need to be addressed clinically or are they just observations people normally have of others? Try not to become a little paranoid.
·
Solution 3. After this information is compiled and placed into a clinical format does anything else need to be done ?
·
Remember people who care may surround us. Embracing good friendships should be everyone's goal. In order to build strong emotional ties.
·
There may be a need for a cognitive and/or behavioral assessment.
