United Healthcare Insurance and United Behavioral Health have several options for mental health patients. Some are individually based and others you must  buy part of an employee plan. The focus on mental health care received attention in New Jersey for workers in 2009. It goes like this,”NEWARK, N.J. (March 18, 2009) – More than 10,000 social service workers across New Jersey now have access to lower-cost health insurance.”We endorse efforts like these because they offer services to a part of the community that recognizes the need for discounted services. Employees can have an additional discount on some of their payments to us just to encourage them to take better care of themselves.

United Healthcare has had a long standing relationship with us thru the AARP program since 1991. At that time we were asked by a certain New Jersey employer to accept people that were much younger than our typical patients. But for which we had decades of experience with. Also,to provide an option of counselling help from an educational behavioral perspective. New Jersey psychotherapy is largely a non education degree occupation. To this end services have been given evenly to men and women of all ages. This continues today under United Healthcare, United Behavioral Health.

United Healthcare encourages high quality standards in reviewing each case. This has not really changed by Healthcare Reform in New Jersey. Reviews of medications, treatment plans, notes according to acceptable legible quality, and naturally the course of treatment to reflect resolution. In our work with United Healthcare we have never viewed patients as long term care patients. Rather, there is a solution and relief for most psychological disorders. The importance of recognizing that help is needed early on  preventing many hours of emotional crisis.

United Healthcare offers plans for hospice, Medicare Advantage, and others. But these are ones we mostly deal with.

New Jersey has many mental health issues namely living here is difficult just in itself. There have been volumes written about the inequality of life in New Jersey. It’s difficult to understand the rich research base and the little knowledge our leaders seem to use to solve New Jersey’s fiscal issues. Never mind that there are still some companies sensitive to New Jersey mental health needs. If the stress of job, environment, and just complex emotional crisis leads to despair call a mental health provider for HELP. If financial concern is keeping you away from treatment contact your County Mental Health Association.

....Medicare. Coverage under Medicare is restricted to reasonable and medically necessary treatment in a hospital; skilled nursing home, meal and regular nursing care services; necessary special care; and home health services and hospice care for terminally ill patients. Medicare was enacted in 1965 as one of President Lyndon Johnson's Great Society programs. The Social Security Administration originally administered Medicare, but in 1977 management was transferred to the Health Care Financing Administration (since renamed the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services).More info. about nursing homes.
